Individual Therapy for Trauma

Trauma-Focused Aceptance and Commitment Therapy

Trauma-Focused ACT is an intervention frequently used for trauma, anxiety, addiction, and PTSD. This intervention helps combine awareness of challenging thoughts, feelings, and beliefs along with meaningful actions to increase feelings of safety, self-compassion, and values-based living.

Therapy for Trauma:

  • Increases awareness around themes of avoidance as well habitual patterns in communication and action that no longer feel helpful

  • Find grounding strategies to increase awareness of internal experiences and move towards safety

  • Regulate the nervous system to “rewire” unhelpful responses to align more with your values and desired responses

  • Explore beliefs about yourself, others, and the world and “unhook” from unhelpful beliefs and thoughts

  • Engage in what matters and take action to live a life that feels meaningful
